Gang assaults retired Railway employee

Mysuru: A retired Railway employee was assaulted by a gang over financial issues at Srirampura 2nd Stage.

The victim is Puttaraju, a resident of 10th Cross in Srirampura 2nd stage, those who assaulted him are Puttachennamma, Gunda, Ganesh and 10 others, residents of Jayanagar 3rd Cross. Among the assaulters, 47-year-old Ganesh has been arrested by the Police and has been remanded to judicial custody.

The incident: About four days ago, Puttachennamma and 10 others, who went to the house of Puttaraju, forced him to write the house which he had mortgaged in their name after taking the balance money.

Puttaraju replied in a high pitch that the matter had been resolved in the Court and told them that he would lodge a complaint with the Police if they force him again.

Irked by his reply, Puttachennamma, her son Gunda, and others allegedly assaulted Puttaraju besides issuing him a murder threat. The entire incident was captured by CCTV cameras installed near the house of Puttaraju.
