Mysore/Mysuru: City’s 7th Additional District and Sessions Court has sentenced a ganja peddler of Hunsur to two years rigorous imprisonment and imposed a fine of Rs. 20,000 after he was found guilty.

The convict is K.M. Ravi. On July 17, 2024 at about 7.15 pm, CEN Dy.SP N. Raghu and staff took Ravi into custody and seized the plastic bag, as he came walking from Kattemalalawadi side towards the Bus Stand, near Shanimahatma Temple.

After mentioning the seized item in the Court’s inventory, the seized item was sent to Regional Forensic Science Laboratory (RFSL), where it was confirmed that the seized item is ganja. Following the RFSL report, Investigating Officer Lamani Sushma submitted a charge sheet to the Court.

Judge M. Ramesh, who took up the case on Apr. 17, found accused Ravi guilty and sentenced him to two years rigorous imprisonment and imposed a fine of Rs. 20,000 under 20(b) (ii) B of the NDPS Act. Failing to pay the fine, the convict has to undergo an additional three months simple imprisonment.
