Giraffe calves christened as Balaji and Aadyaveer

June 8, 2020

During the re-opening of Zoo, new-born giraffe calves were also named.

The male giraffe calf born on May 30 to Bharat and Mary was named Balaji and the one born to Bharat and Kushi on Mar. 7 was named Aadyaveer, after the son of Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wadiyar and Trishikha Kumari Wadiyar.

It may be mentioned here that there is a tradition of naming animals at the Mysuru Zoo after royal family members.
