Giri Gowda (80), a resident of Chunchanak-atte in K.R. Nagar taluk, passed away at a private hospital in Mysuru this morning.

He leaves behind his wife Kamalamma, three daughters, two sons including Mysuru Mithra reporter Madhu and a host of relatives and friends.

Last rites were held at Chunchanakatte this afternoon, according to family sources.
