Girl commits suicide

Mysore/Mysuru: A girl, who was being harassed by a youth, forcing her to love him, ended her life by consuming poison. The incident took place at Ganagarahundi in Yelwal hobli on Saturday.

The deceased girl is Harshitha (21) and the youth, who is allegedly responsible for her death, is 26-year-old Shivu of the same village.

Harshitha, who had studied PUC, was attending computer classes when Shivu began to pester her and forced her to love him. Though Harshitha had rejected his proposal, Shivu is said to be forcing her daily to marry him.

Depressed over this, Harshitha reportedly consumed poison and fell sick. Though she was rushed to K.R. Hospital in city, the efforts of the doctors went in vain and she breathed her last at the hospital, according to Yelwal Police, who have registered a case.
