Mysore/Mysuru: An 18-year-old girl student committed suicide by hanging self at her house in RMP Colony here yesterday.

The deceased is Parinitha, daughter of Ratna and Nagaraj couple, who had completed her PU education at a college in city.

Ratna, speaking to Star of Mysore said that her daughter was doing good and had slept together the previous night.

Stating that she (Ratna) was a tailor and her husband a labourer, Ratna said that when she went out of the house in the evening, her daughter took the extreme step.

Kuvempunagar Police, who rushed to the house, conducted mahazar, registered a case and shifted the body to MMC&RI mortuary, where post-mortem was conducted this morning and the body was handed over to the family members.
