Gold mangalya chain snatched

Mysuru: A miscreant has snatched a gold chain from a woman at Srirampura 2nd Stage here on Sunday afternoon.

The woman, who lost her gold mangalya chain weighing 30 grams and worth about Rs. 1.90 lakh, is 55-year-old Rathnamma, a resident of LIC Colony in Srirampura 2nd Stage.

On Sunday at about 3 pm, Rathnamma was proceeding on the cross road near Sankalp Apartment in Srirampura 2nd Stage towards her house when the chain-snatcher, who was standing on the roadside, yanked off her gold mangalya chain and fled from the spot.

Based on the complaint from Rathnamma, Kuvempunagar Police, who have registered a case, have collected footages of CCTV cameras installed in the surroundings of the crime spot and have launched a hunt to nab the accused.
