May 14, 2024

Mysore/Mysuru: Burglars have decamped with gold ornaments worth Rs. 14 lakh from a house at Shakthinagar and a case has been registered at Udayagiri Police Station.

The burglary took place at the house of Ashok Kumar, who had locked his house on May 11 night and had gone to his mother-in-law’s house at Gandhinagar.

As Ashok’s mother-in-law had taken ill, he had sent his wife and daughter to her house. On May 11 night, Ashok locked his house and went to his mother-in-law’s house and stayed overnight there. When he returned to his house at about 10 am the next day, he found the front door of his house open and on inspecting the house, he found the empty jewellery boxes scattered on the bed. The burglars had decamped with gold jewellery in the boxes which he had kept in the almirah.

Udayagiri Police, who have registered a case, are investigating.
