Gold ornaments worth Rs. 5.52 lakh lifted in KSRTC bus

Mysore/Mysuru: A woman, who was travelling in a KSRTC bus from Chamarajanagar to Mysuru, has lost 138 grams gold jewellery which she had kept in her vanity bag.

The woman, who lost her gold is 58-year-old G. Bharati, a resident of Brahmarambha Layout in Chamarajanagar.

On Aug. 20, Bharati boarded the KSRTC bus at Chamarajanagar and alighted in Mysuru. When she checked her vanity bag, she found the bag containing the gold ornaments worth Rs. 5.52 lakh missing.

In her complaint, Bharati has stated that while travelling in the bus, a woman aged between 40 and 45 years was standing close to her and was frequently diverting her attention. Suspecting that the same woman may have lifted the jewels bag, Bharati, on Aug. 26, has lodged a complaint.

KR Police, who have registered a case, are investigating.

House burgled

Gold ornaments worth Rs. 7 lakh has been burgled in broad daylight from a house in Naidu Nagar on Aug. 27. The house belongs to 48-year-old L. Shivamma, a stenographer at the Irrigation Department. On Aug. 27 morning, Shivamma left for work and her daughter also left for her School. When her daughter returned at about 1.45 pm, she found the lock of the door broken and the burglars had decamped with 178 grams gold ornaments and Rs. 1,000 cash kept in the almirah. NR Police have registered a case.
