Mysuru: Asserting that good days are here again for BJP in Karnataka with the BJP-led NDA alliance making a clean sweep (4-0) of the Legislative Council (LC) polls for Graduates and Teachers Constituencies, State BJP President B.Y. Vijayendra maintained that the party would win no less than 120 seats in the next Assembly polls.
Addressing a press conference ahead of party workers meet at a private hotel in city this morning, Vijayendra said the people of the State are eager to bless the BJP and oust the Congress from power.
Claiming that the State is on the brink of bankruptcy, Vijayendra charged the Congress of creating anarchy and chaos across the country in the name of SIR and removal of CEC.
“I thank the educated voters for the stupendous victory of NDA in LC polls, which has dealt a severe blow to the ruling Congress, which misused administrative machinery and unleashed muscle power in the run up to the polls. The decline of Congress in the State has begun. CM Shivakumar is simply touring the State propagating party’s Guarantee Schemes, while doing little on the developmental front,” he said adding “The Government is playing with the livelihood of farmers who are deeply distressed due to drought and crop loss. Instead of paying compensation to them, the Government is spending money on unnecessary things.”

Stating that the Government is getting a good revenue from sugarcane by-products, he urged the Government to announce a much higher price for sugarcane as the farmers have been demanding and agitating for the same for the past several days.
Condemns Kharge’s remarks on Modi
Strongly condemning the insulting remarks made by AICC President Mallikarjun Kharge against PM Modi’s father, he said that the people will teach a fitting lesson to the Congress and its leader Rahul Gandhi who is raising unnecessary hue and cry over the SIR process.
Commenting on expelled BJP MLA Basangouda Patil Yatnal’s possible return to BJP, he said the expelled leader has put a condition seeking his (Vijayendra) removal as State BJP Chief.
Noting that it was Varuna Assembly segment in Mysuru which gave him political momentum, the State BJP Chief, while replying to a question on his possibility of contesting from Varuna, said only time will answer this question.
State BJP Vice-President M. Rajendra, MLA T.S. Srivatsa, MLC Raghu Kautilya, City BJP President L. Nagendra, District President Kumbralli Subbanna, former MLAs B. Harshavardhan, C.S. Niranjan Kumar and N. Mahesh, former Mayor Sandesh Swamy, ex-MLC N. Ramesh, leaders N.V. Phaneesh and E.C. Ningaraj Gowda were present.
