Good Samaritan Shobha felicitated

Mysore/Mysuru: Physical Education (PE) teacher Shobha Kumari (Prakash), who recently assisted a tribal woman to deliver a baby girl at a public park in city, was felicitated by Mysuru Yuva Balaga at a function held at a private hotel on Dewan’s Road here on Friday.

Karnataka Exhibition Authority (KEA) Chairman Hemanth Kumar Gowda presented a portrait of first female teacher of India Savitribai Phule to Shobha and lauded her humanitarian gesture as well as presence of mind.

It may be recalled that, Shobha Kumari, a PE teacher at Navilooru Government High School in Nanjangud Taluk, using her presence of mind and courage, came forward to help a tribal woman to deliver the baby,  after taking oral directions from a doctor on mobile phone at a public park opposite Mini Vidhana Soudha in city on Mar. 9.

Mysore Urban Development Authority (MUDA) member Naveen Kumar, BJP Traders’ Cell Convenor Paramesh Gowda, teacher Tejaswini, leaders Kantilal Jain, Pramod Gowda, Naveen and others were present.
