Mysore/Mysuru: Be it the first wave or the ongoing second wave, the good Samaritans have continued to help people by providing hot and fresh food to needy people.

The Corona pandemic has halted several economic activities rendering thousands jobless. Besides, the life of daily wagers, beggars and destitute has become miserable for want of money to buy food. They stand near prominent circles, near city Railway Station, City and Sub-Urban Bus Stands and main roads of the city waiting for the food donors. 

Understanding the predicament of such people, several individuals and organisations are providing food to thousands of people daily ever since the lockdown was imposed nearly three weeks ago. 

Corporate companies have begun vaccination drives for their employees at their facility.

LIC employees led by B.G. Balaji, S. Venkataraman and B.C. Bhargava, along with Anitha, a teacher and Shakunthala, Secretary of the Association of Physically Challenged Persons have distributed about 40 food kits worth Rs. 1,000 each to specially abled persons, who were deprived of their monthly pension and closure of their petty businesses due to lockdown. The food kits were distributed in front of Maharaja’s College here recently.

Jain International Trade Organisation (JITO) has donated 70 vaporisers for COVID positive patients undergoing treatment at a private COVID care facility in city recently. MUDA Chairman H.V. Rajeev, MUDA Commissioner Dr. D.B. Natesh, JITO Mysore Chairman Chandragupta Katariya, Chief Secretary Mahaveer Gadiya, Vice-Chairman Bherulal Pitliya, Arun Bafna, Secretary Amarchand Dak, Treasurer Manohar Sankhla, PRO Rajan Baghmar, KKG Zone Treasurer Deepak Bohra, Pragati Pratishthan President Dr. Ajay Jain and others were present.

Girinagar Credit Co-operative Society has donated food kits to orchestra artistes, which were distributed by former MLA M.K. Somashekar in city. Proprietor of Omkar Sounds and Systems Omkar Anand and others were present.
