Good Samaritans return bag, student fails to thank !

Mysuru: A student, who had lost her bag that contained a laptop and cash got it back intact, thanks to the Good Samaritans — a Police Constable and a Home Guard attached to the Lakshmipuram Police Station. They spotted the student speeding away on her two-wheeler without realising that her bag had fallen off the road.

Home Guard Gangadhar and Police Constable Kumar were on duty yesterday near the Ashoka Circle when they spotted the bag falling off from the two-wheeler that was being driven by the student who was later identified as Supriya, a resident of Alanahalli. They immediately picked up the bag and when checked, they found a laptop, ID card, a vanity bag, books and   Rs. 10,000 in cash.

Both Gangadhar and Kumar reported the incident to Inspector Manjunath, who called up Supriya’s mother after he traced her phone number from the ID Card. Supriya came to the Police Station after some time and collected the items and left the place.

After getting back the bag, Supriya, however, failed to thank Gangadhar and Kumar. “Though we managed to take the bag that had fallen by the side of the road and returned it in tact to Supriya, she did not thank us even for courtesy’s sake. Though we are hurt by her attitude, we have the satisfaction of doing our duty,” said Gangadhar and Kumar.
