‘Govardanoddharana – Panchajanya’ Yakshagana keeps audience in awe

Mysuru: Bellippadi Yaksha Samskruthika Trust had organised ‘Govardanoddharana-Panchajanya,’ a mythological Yakshagana show at Jaganmohan Palace here yesterday which was presented by Neralakatte Sri Panchajanya Yakshagana Troupe.

Gokula ruler Nandagopala getting ready to worship Lord Indra for rain, then changing his mind to worship Govardanagiri, the enraged Indra inducing thunder-showers throwing nature out of gear and the aftermath were excellently displayed on the stage dramatically, keeping the audience in awe.

The episodes were excellently portrayed by artistes Prakash Nirchal, Rajesh Modabidri, Jagadabhi Ramaswamy Padubidri, Shambaiah Bhat, Vinod Rai Sorake, Lakshman Marakada, Balakrishna, Shambaiah and Gopalakrishna Bhat.

Star of Mysore Editor-in-Chief K.B. Ganapathy, IPS Officer Harish Pandey and DCP Dr. Vikram  V. Amathe were felicitated on the occasion. Trust President Dr. Bellippadi Sathish Rai was present.
