Government Departments already in line: RTOs

February 1, 2023

Mysore/Mysuru:  Ever since the Central Government issued a capping on the renewal of registration of vehicles which are older than 15 years, on  Nov. 24, 2022, various Government Departments in Mysuru are abiding by the order.

According to Regional Transport Officers (RTO) — Bheemanagowda Patil (RTO West) and L. Deepak (RTO East) — be it availing of Fitness Certificate (FC) or renewal of Registration Certificate (RC), the Departments have refrained in compliance with the order.

“Even at our end, we won’t honour any such requests. For now, we have received an e-mail regarding the recent order of Union Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, with the official order copy awaited,” they said.

The total number of vehicles that fit the category (more than 15 year old) will have to be calculated yet, the RTOs added.
