Bengaluru: With Assembly polls round the corner, CM Siddharamaiah announced in the Assembly yesterday that the pay revision for Government employees will come into effect from April 1. Replying to a debate on the State Budget in the Assembly, the CM said that the 6th Pay Commission has recommended a 30 percent hike in wages and he would take a decision on the recommendations in the next Cabinet meeting.
Maintaining that he had fulfilled the promise made in the Budget by effecting pay hike, the CM said that the pay hike would cause an additional burden of Rs.10,550 crore.
Listing out his Govt’s achievements over the past five years, he said that the Government has come to the rescue of farmers through loan waiver up to Rs. 50,000. Claiming that the State’s finances were good, he said that the State Government had done remarkably well despite years of successive drought.
Asserting that his Government had fulfilled all the promises, Siddharamaiah expressed confidence that the Congress would retain power in the State.
