Government faces flak for absence of Ministers

March 28, 2017

With the entire State Cabinet busy in campaigning for the Congress candidates in Nanjangud and Gundlupet by-polls, the Opposition parties on Monday slammed the Government for the absence of Ministers in the ongoing Assembly session.

Soon after the session commenced for the day, Opposition leader Jagadish Shettar, taking into note that none of the Ministers were present, questioned the Speaker about their absence.

Alleging that the Government had not taken the budget session seriously, Shettar demanded an answer from the Government.

Just as Shettar was taking on the Government, Law and Parliamentary Affairs Minister T.B. Jayachandra, who walked into the house, tried to calm down the Opposition stating that the budget discussion can continue and the Ministers are expected to arrive anytime.
