Government looking at ways to facilitate registration of revenue sites

January 28, 2020

Bengaluru: Revenue Minister R. Ashoka said that the Government is considering a overhaul in the registration of revenue sites, which are agricultural lands that have not been converted for non-agricultural use.

Speaking to press persons here recently, Ashoka said that cities, especially Bengaluru and Mysuru, have many revenue sites where houses have been built without a land use conversion order, which makes them illegal.

Pointing out that the registration process is driven by Kaveri Online Services, he said that the registration will be blocked if documents are not in order and it is because of this that the revenue sites which do not have a conversion order or other approvals are facing difficulty during registration. This matter will be discussed with the Chief Minister, Ashoka added. Meanwhile, sources said that the Government is working on integrating Kaveri with e-Aasthi, which is the database for urban properties.

Continuing, the Revenue Minister said, the Government will consider a proposal to designate Deputy Commissioners (DCs) as District Collectors. He pointed out that the DCs of the State have proposed the change because there are DCs in other Departments too.
