Government PU College for girls inaugurated at Rajiv Nagar

Mysuru: NR MLA and former Minister Tanveer Sait inaugurated the newly built Government PU College for Girls at Rajiv Nagar second stage in city on Friday.

Later speaking, Tanveer Sait said that the long-standing demand for a Government PU College in the constituency has been fulfilled.

Noting that the College building has been constructed with Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) grants, Sait highlighted the efforts he has been making to provide quality education to the poor and less-privileged sections of the society.

Pointing out that Government Educational Institutions have been imparting education at very low fees, Sait appealed all students to study in Government Schools and Colleges.

Stating that the State Government has introduced English medium of instruction in Government Primary Schools, Sait said, these were all some of the revolutionary reforms launched by the State Government.

Maintaining that the Coalition Government has prioritised Primary and Higher Secondary Education, Sait said that the College was sanctioned in 2016-17 and building was built with Rs.50 lakh provided by him under the Legislator’s Local Area Development (LAD)  fund and the grants released by the MUDA.

Stating that the College has already begun enrolling student for Arts and Commerce streams, he said that Science stream too would be added soon.

Tanveer Sait assures IMA investors

Referring to Bengaluru-based IMA jewels Ponzi scheme in which thousands of investors have lost thousands of crores of rupees, Sait said that the investors need not be jittery and he would make sincere efforts to get back the money to investors.

Appealing the investors not to lose hope, Sait asked them to lodge complaints along with all necessary documents.

He further said that he has directed the Police to register a single FIR covering all the cheated investors.

Mayor Pushpalatha Jagannath, Deputy Mayor Shafi Ahmed, DDPUE N. Ratna, Mysuru North BEO Uday Kumar, Corportors Anwar Baig, Shantakumari and Hazeera Salma, former Corportor Shaukath Pasha, College Principal Dhanvantari,  MUDA Engineers G. Suvarna, Prabhakar and Mohan were present.
