Govt. annuls MUDA’s decision on 50:50 ratio site allotment

November 8, 2023

Mysore/Mysuru: In a setback, the State Government has revoked the Mysuru Urban Development Authority’s (MUDA) decision to allocate sites on a 50:50 ratio.

This decision by MUDA was made during a meeting held on Sept. 14, 2020, where it was resolved to allot sites in a 50:50 ratio for cases involving the use of land without completing the land acquisition process and non-payment of compensation to landowners who had relinquished their land for the development of MUDA layouts.

However, the Government has now nullified this resolution, citing it as being in contravention of established norms. Furthermore, the Government has issued a directive, emphasising that MUDA cannot make such decisions without a formal Government order.

The MUDA Commissioner has been instructed to submit the proposal for further Government consideration and orders.
