Mysuru: S. Krishnamurthy (86), former President of State Government Employees Association and a resident of Saraswathipuram, passed away last night at a private hospital in city following brief illness.

He leaves behind his wife Lalithamma, one son, one daughter and a host of relatives and friends.A retired PWD Executive Engineer, Krishnamurthy had served as the President of State Government Employees Association from 1968 to 1985. He had also served as the Hon. Secretary of Sarada Vilas Educational Institutions from 1991 to 2011. He was the ex-President of District Brahmana Mahasabha and Founder-Member and Hon. President of Babbur Kamme Sangha.

Last rites were held at the foot of Chamundi Hill this afternoon, according to sources.
