IT Quiz evaluates students in emerging technologies
Mysuru: Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) and the Board for IT Education Standards (BITES), an autonomous body promoted by Government of Karnataka, has announced the winners of Mysuru Regional finals of 16th edition of TCS TechBytes.
H.D. Purushotham of Government Engineering College, Hassan, is the winner while R. Hemanth of Jyothy Institute of Technology, Bengaluru, is the
runner-up. The winner received a gift voucher worth Rs. 12,000 while the runner-up received vouchers worth Rs. 10,000. All finalists got gift vouchers.
Dr. Haraprasad, Dean, Internal Quality Assurance & Accreditation, JSS Science & Technology University, who was the chief guest, distributed the prizes.
The winner of this round will represent Mysuru at the State Finals in Bengaluru on Apr. 8.
Sunil Deshpande, Regional Head, TCS Bengaluru, said TechBytes is a great engine to explore diverse trends in technology space and develop a future ready talent pool so that they are equipped with relevant skills for their careers.
Participants from Mysuru Region underwent a preliminary written test and top six students from this round qualified for an interactive quiz in five segments.
Prof. S. Sadagopan, Chairman, BITES, said, this event not only enhances students’ technical knowledge but also fosters a spirit of healthy competition.
TCS TechBytes is a campus outreach programme that strives to provide a better understanding of IT to students of all streams of engineering. The Regional Finals of TCS TechBytes is being conducted across six cities in Karnataka — Mangaluru, Mysuru, Kalaburagi, Hubballi, Tumakuru and Bengaluru.
