Govt. sanctions Rs.700 crore to Private Schools as RTE Grant

Bengaluru: In some relief for private unaided schools amid COVID crisis, the State Government has sanctioned Rs.700 crore to Private Schools under RTE (Right to Education) quota.

 According to the Director of the Department of Public Instruction, the Government has transferred the money to the Department, which will be released to unaided Private Schools soon after the Government issues an order.

Meanwhile, sources said that the Government has instructed the Department to release RTE reimbursement money to Private Schools by the end of May. 

The Department is said to have also warned DDPIs and BEOs against any laxity in the release of pending dues to schools .
