GP by-polls: Fairs, liquor sale banned on July 23

Mysore/Mysuru: With the bypolls to Gram Panchayats (GP) scheduled to take place on July 23, the District Administration, as a precautionary measure and enforcement of model code of conduct, has banned all fairs,  shanties and such other public gatherings, in the limits of Devanur and Devarayashetty GPs in Nanjangud taluk, Hemmige GP in T. Narasipur taluk, Jabagere, Tattekere and Kattemanuganahalli GPs in Hunsur taluk, Hampapura GP in K.R. Nagar taluk, Madapura and N.Begur GPs in H.D.Kote taluk from midnight of July 22 to midnight of July 23.

Liquor sale banned

The sale, transportation, stocking and distribution of liquor is also totally  banned in the above mentioned GP limits from midnight of July 22 to midnight of July 23.

Prohibitory orders around polling booths

In order to ensure smooth and fair conduct of the GP  bypolls, the District Administration has clamped prohibitory orders in 200 mt. radius around all the polling booths where voting will take place, from 6 am to 6 pm on July 23.
