Mysuru: “The gross enrolment for Higher Education in the State stands at 27.8 per cent and out of this 28.5 per cent are females. Due to various reasons, it is very difficult to enrol girls into higher education. However, institutions like JSS and many others are doing yeoman service by educating girl children,” said Dr. N. Manjula, Director, Department of Collegiate Education.
She was delivering the keynote address after presenting medals and certificates at the 11th Graduation Day organised by JSS Women’s College (Autonomous) at its Navajyothi auditorium in the college premises, Saraswathipuram, here yesterday.
She enthused the girl students saying that it was payback time as that is what the society expects from them and they should rise to the occasion by giving good service. This they can do by aiming high and having clear aims and values. But what is most important to deliver is to have a clear conscience, she added.
