Graduation Day at JSS Speech and Hearing Institute

Mysuru:  Stressing on the need for carrying out research studies and innovations, University of Mysore Vice-Chancellor Prof. G. Hemantha Kumar observed that  without them, education is incomplete.

He was speaking as the chief guest at the Graduation Day of JSS Institute of Speech and Hearing, M.G. Road at Sri Rajendra Centenary auditorium in JSS Hospital premises here on Dec.4.

Noting that education is getting stronger with advances in Science and Technology, he said that Speech and Hearing subject is much in demand these days.

Pointing out that thousands of speech and hearing impaired persons are in anticipation of services of speech therapists, he said that it is important for students to imbibe values apart from learning.

He asserted that education in Karnataka was far more better as compared to other States.

Highlighting the need for educational institutions to focus on research, he lauded JSS institutions for giving due importance to research, creativity and innovation.

JSS Mahavidyapeetha Exe-cutive Secretary Dr. C. G. Betsurmath, in his address, said that 660 students have graduated from the Institute, while 300 have earned their post-graduate degree and 5 have got Doctoral degree, so far.

A total of 107 students received their degrees on the occasion.

University of Mysore Registrar (Evaluation) Dr. A.P. Gnanaprakash, JSS Mahavidyapeetha Director – Medical Education Division, R Mahesh,  Institute faculty Dr. R. Suma, Dr. N.P. Nataraj and others were present.
