Graduation Day held at Amrita

Mysuru:  Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham Mysuru campus celebrated the Graduation Day at its premises in Bogadi here recently.

Prof. Uday Maitra of Department of Organic Chemistry, Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bengaluru, was the chief guest. Addressing the graduates, he said that students should always develop a ‘never give up’ attitude and added that graduates should incorporate the institution’s mission to have a selfless service towards society.

He further said that the best trait of any student is to ask good questions which helps in his/her overall development and added that students should make sure not to compromise on quality of work.

Zilla Panchayat CEO K. Jyothi enlightened the students by asking them to face the challenges in life courageously. She also mentioned that marks scored are not important but the experience that teachers give to students should serve as a compass.

Swami Prajnanamritananda Puri, Senior disciple of Mata Amritanandamayi, in his benedictory address said: “Student life is the best time in life and it is here where one can develop oneself completely.”

Asking the students to live in the present, he added that learning is a lifelong process and it won’t stop irrespective of where you reach in  your career. Medals and certificates for the rank holders were distributed by the Swamiji and the distinguished guests.

In total, 335 students (both PG and UG) received their degrees during the graduation ceremony.
