Graduation Day held at St. Joseph’s B.Ed College

Mysore/Mysuru: St. Joseph’s College of Education, Mysuru, celebrated its 53rd Graduation Day, marking a significant milestone for the graduating batch of teacher trainees at its premises in Jayalakshmipuram  here recently.

The ceremony began with the traditional lighting of the lamp by the dignitaries, followed by a prayerful hymn by the college choir.

Prof. N. Nagaraja, Registrar (Evaluation), University of Mysore, who was the chief guest, congratulated the graduates and stressed the need to uphold the true spirit of education while bridging literacy gaps.

He reminded them that teaching is a noble profession requiring commitment beyond routine hours and urged the future teachers to be effective troubleshooters.

In his Presidential address, Bishop of Mysuru Most Rev. Dr. Francis Serrao SJ affirmed that God, parents and teachers were key agents in shaping life.

He stressed that teaching is a noble profession, requiring patience, perseverance and respect for every student without discrimination.

The Graduation Oath was administered to the students by Mysore Diocesan Educational Society (MDES) Secretary and Correspondent Rev. Fr. Edward William Saldanha, who reminded the graduates of their ethical and professional responsibilities as future educators.

MDES Treasurer Rev. Fr. Naveen Kumar, CEO of Training and Development Seby Mavely,  Principal of St. Joseph’s College of Education Dr. Priya Mathew, event co-ordinator Dr. Asha P. Pathrose and others were present at the graduation ceremony.
