Group-D employees seek COVID-19 Risk Honorarium

August 26, 2020

Mysore/Mysuru: Even as they are indulged in the battle against the deadly COVID-19 pandemic, Group-D employees of the Departments of Health & Family Welfare and Medical Education, who  work wearing PPE kits, have sought a monthly COVID-19 Risk Honorarium of Rs. 10,000 from the Government.

In a press release, the Group-D employees said that they have submitted a memorandum to the Deputy Commissioner seeking  a monthly COVID-19 Risk Honorarium of Rs.10,000 for them, at least for the next six months.

Maintaining that officials  have been evasive on their demand, which is just considering the health risk involved in the handling of the deadly  pandemic, they said that the DC must take note of their plea and take necessary action.

They further said the contract employees who are also part of Corona Warriors will be left to face a lot of hardship if the Government ignores their plea, the release said.
