Mysuru – ‘GRS UpDown,’ a photography attraction in Metagalli built around upside-down sets and optical illusions, has been named a winner of the Tripadvisor Travellers’ Choice Awards-2026, placing it in the top 10 percent of listings on the platform worldwide.

The Travellers’ Choice designation is determined entirely by traveller reviews and ratings collected on Tripadvisor over the 12 months preceding the award, with no entry fee or industry panel involved. ‘GRS UpDown,’ Mysuru, currently holds a 4.8-star rating on Tripadvisor platform.

The attraction draws roughly 1,000 visitors a day during the summer season, with most travelling from across Karnataka specifically for the photography experience, according to operator Baliga Investments Private Limited. Cumulative footfall has crossed 8 lakh visitors since the attraction opened in June 2020, with over 20 million photographs taken on site in that period.

“We’ve had visitors come from across Karnataka and beyond since 2020 and this recognition rests on what they wrote about their visit,” said Yogesh Dange, Director, Baliga Investments.

The fully air-conditioned space contains 12 themed rooms designed to defy perspective, including a kitchen, living room, dining hall and office setup, alongside vintage car and scooter installations, all engineered to show as gravity-defying images on camera.

The attraction features more than 40 photo and video points, with on-site photographers capturing pictures on visitors’ own phones at no extra charge. A visit lasts 45 minutes to an hour.

In 2023, ‘GRS UpDown’ received the Most Innovative Attraction Award from Indian Association of Amusement Parks and Industries, the national body of Amusement Industry in India.
