Mysore/Mysuru: The Ministry of Education, Government of India, has initiated ‘Atal Ranking of Institutions on Innovation Achievements (ARIIA)’ to systematically rank education institutions and Universities primarily on innovation related indicators. ARIIA considers all major indicators which are commonly used to rank most innovative education institutions/ Universities in India.
GSSS Institute of Engineering & Technology for Women (GSSSIETW), Mysuru, has been recognised to be part of Top 50 ARIIA Rankings in Band B for Private or Self-Financed College/ Institutes declared by MHRD Innovation Cell, on Aug.18, 2020.
The scores obtained by GSSSIETW for Innovation, Entrepreneurship among students and faculties & Teaching and Learning on Innovation / IPR / Entrepreneurship indicate good ranking.
Dr. M. Shivakumar, Principal of the Institute, said “It is an honour for a self-financing Engineering Institution to be one among the Top 50 Rankings”. GSSSIETW is associated with 10 start-up companies and entrepreneurs for submitting innovative ideas that will be turned out as real time prototype models with the financial assistance from Ministry of MSME, supported by Technology Business Incubator Cell of GSSSIETW, Mysuru.
The Institution Innovation Council (IIC) has secured 4 Star Rating from MHRD Innovation Cell in 2019. An active Entrepreneurship Development Cell exists and offers “Open Learning Programme in Entrepreneurship”, in association with Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India (EDII), for students to turn out as entrepreneurs. The EDC cell regularly organises various Entrepreneurship Awareness Camps with the support of DST to increase the confidence level of students and improve their entrepreneurial skill set.
Antarprerana 2019- B-Plan Idea competition has been conducted and around 21 students’ batches from all branches of engineering presented their ideas.
During Smart India Hackathon 2019, 22 students’ ideas from 17 teams have been submitted. The IPR Cell has organised various seminars and workshops for the benefit of Faculty and students.
