GTD flooded with complaints during his village tour

Mysuru:  Residents of various villages coming under Chamundeshwari Assembly segment urged District Minister G.T. Devegowda to resolve drinking water problem, to develop roads, to repair dilapidated school and anganawadi building, to run KSRTC buses besides to ensure basic facilities to their villages.

The Minister, who undertook a tour programme, visited various villages along with district and taluk-level officials here this morning and inaugurated various development programmes initiated by the Government in his Assembly segment.

During his visit to Gujjegowdanapura, the villagers came down heavily on KSRTC officials for not running buses to their villages.

They alleged that students, women and children were affected by lack of bus facility and they had to walk miles to reach the main road to catch a bus.

Responding to this, the District Minister immediately ordered the KSRTC officials to look into the complaint.  

They also sought the District Minister to put up road hump on Mysuru-Manandavadi Road at their village gate as a four-year-old boy was recently injured when an over-speeding vehicle knocked him down.

Villagers also asked the Minister to repair the dilapidated school and anganawadi building which had damaged roofs. To this plea, the District Minister directed ZP CEO K. Jyothi who was present at the spot to take note of this complaint seriously.

Later, the District Minister inaugurated the road development works taken up at a cost of Rs. 69 lakh under Tribal Sub Plan (TSP) at this village.  

At Maddurhundi,  Mandanahalli and Haroholli, the villagers sought GTD to ease drinking water crisis, besides providing good roads, drainages, street lights and to fill water to lakes.

GTD also laid foundation stone of construction of bus stand at a cost of Rs. 75 lakh at Jayapura.

Speaking to reporters, GTD said that all the 22 lakes of Chamundeshwari segment will be filled with water by 2020.

Deputy Commissioner Abhiram G. Sankar, SP Amit Singh, Tahsildar T. Rameshbabu,                                  ZP members Beerihundi Basavanna and Madegowda, TP member Rajini and others were present.
