Guest and part-time lecturers stage protest seeking regularisation of service

Mysuru: Guest and Part-time lecturers serving at Government First Grade Colleges  staged a demonstration in front of the Deputy Commissioner’s office here yesterday demanding regularisation of service.

Claiming that they were serving at Government First Grade Colleges for over 10 years, the lecturers alleged that  all the assurances given by the previous governments on regularisation of long serving lecturers have not been kept.

Welcoming the current government’s decision to appoint Assistant Professors, the protestors urged the government to consider them first in the appointment on humanitarian grounds, as they have become over-aged for other government jobs.

Later, they submitted a memorandum containing the list of their demands to the DC. Government First Grade College Guest Lecturers Association President K. Somashekar,General Secretary J.C. Ravindra and others took part.
