Guru Purnima celebrated in city

Mataji Brijdevi conducted a prayer meeting on the first day of the two-day Guru Poornima celebrations organised by Mysuru Radha Krupa Mandal at a private hotel in the city yesterday. The meeting was attended by hundreds of devotees.

Mysuru: As part of Guru Purnima, prayer meetings and celebrations were held at various places in the city this morning.

At Ganapathy Ashrama: Marking the occasion, Ganapathy Homa, Guru Parampara Puja, Vyasa Puja and other rituals were performed at the Ashrama premises on Nanjangud Road under the guidance of junior pontiff Sri Datta Vijayananda Theertha Swamiji.

At Sri Ramakrishna Ashrama: The festivities commenced at 5.15 am with Guru Sthothra followed by bhajans, Vishnu Sahasranama Parayana and discourses.

At Prasanna Sri Mandira: The five-day programme commenced at the temple on Thyagaraja Road in Agrahara here with Kakada Aarati followed by Ganapathy puja, Sai Abhisheka and mass feeding.

At Raghavendra Mutt: Special pujas were held at the Mutt near Shanthala theatre.

Guru Purnima was also celebrated at other Sai Baba temples in city and also at Shivananda Jnanalya. Pujas were performed at many other temples also.
