Mysuru: Two books titled Hemantha (‘ºÉêÀÄAvÀ’) and  Jnanadeguladalli  (‘eÁÕ£ÀzÉÃUÀÄ®zÀ°è’) were released by Thaawarchand Gehlot, Governor – Chancellor of the Universities of Karnataka in Bengaluru on Sept. 25.

Hemantha is a felicitation volume containing articles on Prof. G. Hemantha Kumar, former Vice-Chancellor of University of Mysore (UoM), from 2018-2022. The articles have traced the trajectory of Prof. Hemantha Kumar’s contribution to the growth and development of the University as its 25th VC.

Prof. Hemanth Kumar’s friends, colleagues, scholars and family members have recalled his diligence and single-minded focus on his works as VC of one of the oldest Universities of India.

The second volume Jnanadeguladalli (In the shrine of knowledge) is a collection of speeches and addresses Prof. Hemantha Kumar as the VC.

Speaking on the occasion,  the Governor expressed his appreciation of Prof. Hemanth Kumar’s academic and administrative acumen which enabled to marshal the UoM in tune with its hoary past and bright future.

Prof. C. Naganna, former Professor of Comparative Literature, University of Mysore, introduced the book in the presence of Prof. Hemantha Kumar, Prof.  Bhashyam Swamiji, Srinivasan, Dr. Chethan, Dr. Sanjana Chetty and Dr. Sathish Chetty.
