Guv’s nod for CM Siddaramaiah’s prosecution: Karnataka Janaranga to stage overnight protest in city

August 21, 2024

Mysore/Mysuru: Karnataka Janaranga has decided to stage overnight protest in the city from 5 pm of Aug. 24 to 5 pm of Aug. 25 at Chikkagadiyara (Dufferin Clock Tower) near Devaraja Market, against the Governor’s decision to sanction prosecution of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah in Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) 50:50 site scam.

The protest will be staged under the slogan ‘Save Democracy and Protect Constitution,’ with the title “Condemning Governor’s move,” as per the decision taken at a meeting held at Jaladarshini Guest House in city yesterday.

Those participating in the protest shall wear black band and make suitable arrangements for the littérateurs and activists to address the gathering. Most importantly, the bid to snatch the rights of daughters eligible for share in property, as envisaged in the Constitution drafted by Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, should   be condemned.

The pamphlets to create awareness about the attempts to mislead the society with political motives, should be distributed. If possible, we should also seek the support of retired Judges H. Nagamohan Das and N. Santosh Hegde, also a former Lokayukta, suggested those present in the meeting.

The leaders during the meeting alleged that, Governor is being misused against the Constitution, only to dent the image of the pro-people Government led by Siddaramaiah. Those who are bringing in the caste of Governor lack wisdom. Those associated with Sangh Parivar and communalists have been vehemently opposing Siddaramaiah, with the Central probe agencies being misused only to trouble Siddaramaiah. Strangely, even those leaders mired in scams took part in the recent Mysuru Chalo Padayatra from Bengaluru, organised by BJP-JD(S) combine.
