Gym owners get ready to re-open from Aug. 5

Mysore/Mysuru: The Mysuru District Gym and Fitness Centres Association has said that all Gym and Fitness Centres in the district will re-open from tomorrow (Aug.5).

Speaking to ‘Star of Mysore’  this morning, Association President Harsha said that the city and district has over 250 gyms and fitness centres providing direct or indirect employment to over 2,000 people. Pointing out that over 45,000 people visit the centres daily, he said that almost all centres have regular customers having 2-year and 1-year membership. Maintaining that gyms and fitness centres play a crucial role in the health and physical well-being of the people, Harsha said that people need not fear to visit the centres as all  COVID-19 precautionary and safety measures such as sanitisation, physical distancing, wearing of face masks will be strictly followed.

Stating that gym owners have been demanding re-opening ever since the Government started announcing relaxations of lockdown rules, he reassured that the gyms have utmost concern for the health and safety of the citizens and as such the people can visit without fear.

City Yoga centres awaiting State Government guidelines

With the Centre allowing Yoga Centres also to re-open from tomorrow (Aug.5), Yoga centres of city are awaiting guidelines from the State Government and the District administration.

Speaking to ‘Star of Mysore’ this morning, Srihari of GSSS Foundation, who is also the President of Mysuru Yoga Federation, said that there are about 400 yoga training centres in city, where thousands from across the country and abroad are undergoing training. Pointing out that though the Centre has announced that it would allow re-opening of Yoga Schools from Aug.5, with conditions such as sanitisation, physical distancing and 50 percent student strength, Srihari said that they are awaiting detailed guidelines from the State Government and the District administration, which is expected by this evening, following which a decision on re-opening will be taken.
