Mysuru: ‘Hadapada Appanna Jayanti will be celebrated on Aug. 1 and all necessary preparations have been made in this regard by the district administrations,’ said Additional Deputy Commissioner B.R. Poornima. 

Speaking at the preparatory meeting held at DC office on Tuesday, she informed that as part of the celebrations a procession would be taken out on that day at 10.30 am from Kote Anjaneyaswamy temple. 

Later at 11.30 am, a programme has been organised at Kalamandira. MLA L. Nagendra will preside, she said and asked members of pro-Kannada organisations and the community to participate in large numbers.

Department of Kannada and Culture Assistant Director H. Channappa, leaders of Savita Samaja, President of District Hadapada Appanna Sangha Nagesh, B.T. Rajamma of Savita Samaja, member of Kannada Jagriti Hitarakshana Samithi M.B. Vishwanath and others attended the meeting.
