Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) KavitaRajaram said that people from all communities and sections of the society should come together for celebrating 12th century Vachanakara and social reformer HadapadaAppannaJayanti in the city on July 18.

Presiding over a preliminary meeting at the Deputy Commissioner’s office here recently, KavitaRajaram said that the District Administration, in association with Kannada & Culture Department, will be celebrating HadapadaAppannaJayanti in a meaningful manner at KiruRangamandira (Mini Theatre) in Kalamandira premises at 11.30 am on July 18. The details of the celebration will be chalked out as per the district protocol, she added.

Kannada and Culture Assistant Director Dr. M.D. Sudarshan said that the MCC will make arrangements for drinking water, shamiana erection, maintenance of hygiene and other amenities at the venue. The Government will provide Rs. 50,000 grant for the Jayanti celebration, he added.

State Government Employees Association Mysuru District President Govindaraju, District-level  officials and community members  were present at the meeting.
