Mysuru: The Department of Mechanical Engineering, Vidyavardhaka College of Engineering (VVCE) had recently organised a three-day students workshop on “Vehicle Dynamics, RC Aero-modelling and 3-D Printing.” At these workshops, students had an opportunity to learn theoretical and practical aspects about vehicle dynamics, remote-controlled Aero-modelling and three-dimensional printing. Hands-on modelling was given greater emphasis.
Many student coordinators took the initiative in imparting technical skills and competencies involved in learning these intricate aspects. Over150 students from the department participated in the workshops.
Vehicle dynamics: Students from ‘Team Falcon’ of Department of Mechanical Engineering conducted a workshop on “Introduction to Vehicle Dynamics”. Thirty-eight students from II year attended the workshop. Resource persons were from 8th and 6th semester. The workshop focused on topics of design and analysis of racing vehicles, design and calculations of subsystems of race vehicles like engine and transmission, steering and suspension and braking.
Faculty coordinator was Prof. Arun C. Dixit while student coordinator was D.L. Akash. Dr. H.S. Dayananda, Dean, Academics and In-charge Principal, Dr. G.B. Krishnappa, Dean (Research and Development), Dr. L.J. Sudev, HoD, Mechanical Engineering, faculty members, coordinators, sponsors from Rane Madras, Vijaya Bank and Mysore Polymers and students were present during the inauguration.
