Hangal Paramparotsava in city tomorrow

To showcase Indian Classical Music and Dance, Vaishnavi Gangubai Hangal Academy of Indian Classical Music in association with Kannada and Culture Department will be hosting ‘Hangal Paramparotsava’ on July 14 at 5 pm at Nadabrahma Sangeetha Sabha on JLB Road in the city. Academy Chief Vaishnavi Hangal, who also heads Vaishnavi Gangubai Hangal Heritage Trust, said that faculty from Hubballi’s Dr. Gangubai Hangal Gurukula and Kirana Gharana’s renowned singer Pandit Maniprasad of Delhi will perform on the occasion. The event will also feature a Kathak performance by International Danseuse Roopa Ravindran. In the backdrop of the programme, a music workshop will be held from 10 am to 1 pm at House No. 12, ‘Meenakshi’, First Main, near Kamakshi Hospital, T.K. Layout, where Pandit Maniprasad will deliver a talk on various aspects of Music.
