Harish Pandav’s Saxophone concert at RAAGA on Saturday

Well-known Saxophonist Vid. Harish Pandav will be performing for Raaga Music Academy on Saturday the 15th at 5.30 pm at Prajna Kuteera Ayurveda Centre, Kuvempunagar.

An extremely talented and versatile artiste, Harish learnt music from Vid. N. Jayaram, Vid. H.A. Ningaraj Pandav and Nadaswara and Vid. K.N. Krishnamurthy of Kodiyala. Currently, he is under the tutelage of Vidu. Gayathri Sathyanarayana for Karnatak  Classical vocal and saxophone.

Graded B at AIR, Harish is a gold medallist in M.Music from Dr. Gangubai Hangal Music and Performing Arts University and also a MA in Economics from the University of Mysore.

Playing this challenging wind instrument with ease and finesse, Harish has received several honours like Sri Sushameendra Kala Puraskara, Rajyotsava Award from Kannada and Culture Department, Kala Sourabha, Samskruthika Prathibe, to name a few. He has performed in various sabhas all over the country, which includes Youth Music Festival at Gayana Samaja, Bengaluru, JSS Sangeetha Sabha, Mysuru, Yuva Sourabha and Vid. Nethi Sriramulu Sharma Sangeetha Sabha, Hyderabad. He has also composed music for a Konkani film ‘Anthu.’

On Saturday, he is being accompanied by Vid. Surup Thathachar on violin, Vid. Vishnuvardhana on mridanga and Vid. Vikram Bharadwaj on ghata. Prior to the concert, Dr. N.V. Krishnamurthy, Director, PrajnaKuteera, will deliver a talk on Healthy Living through Ayurveda and Yoga, from 4.30 pm to 5.15 pm.

The concert is sponsored by ‘The Roddams’ in memory of their mother Yamuna Devi.
