Harshini to present Bharatanatyam  Rangavidhipraveshika on Jan. 25

January 19, 2026

Mysore/Mysuru: Nruthyathi Kalaashale, Mysuru, will present the Bharatanatyam Rangavidhipraveshika of Harshini Iyer, a dedicated disciple of Guru Anusha Varun, on Jan. 25 (Sunday) at 4.30 pm at Jagan Mohan Palace auditorium in city.

This milestone marks the culmination of Harshini’s disciplined artistic journey, a path strengthened by the constant encouragement of her father D. Shankar Iyer and inspired by the values instilled by her late mother B. Sujatha, whose cultural interests played a major role in Harshini’s early artistic exposure.

Harshini’s journey in the classical art form began at the tender age of five under the initial guidance of Guru Sudha, where she embraced the Mysore style. At fourteen, she furthered her training under Anusha Varun in Vasundhara Bani style.

Harshini completed her Master of Commerce from the University of Mysore in 2022 and currently works as a Client Service Analyst at Theorem Digital Solutions, Mysuru, while continuing her dedicated pursuit of Bharatanatyam.

The event is hosted with the blessings of Guru Parampara, honouring the rich classical lineage and tradition of Bharatanatyam sustained through generations — Karnataka Kalathilaka Dr. Vasundhara Doraswamy, internationally acclaimed Bharatanatyam virtuoso; Gayana Gandharva Dr. R.S. Nanda Kumar, renowned musician and musicologist; Natyacharya Vidwan R. Kannan, senior Natya Guru of Karnataka; and Guru K. Sandesh Bhargav, eminent Bharatanatyam artiste and Vice President – Business Excellence & Transformation,   Kaynes Technology.

Dr. Tulsi Ramachandra, Dance Guru of Nrityalaya Trust, Mysuru, whose guidance continues to shape young dancers, will be present on the occasion.

Prof. G. Hemanth Kumar, former Vice-Chancellor, University of Mysore and Vice-President, Maharaja Education Trust, will be the distinguished guest.
