Hassan Convention on Dec. 5: MLC Dr. Yathindra Siddaramaiah flags off publicity vehicle in Mysuru

Mysuru: MLC Dr. Yathindra Siddaramaiah today flagged off the publicity vehicle of Federation of Progressive Organisations for Sri Siddaramaiah Swabhimani Janandolana Samavesha, organised on Dec. 5 at Krishna Nagar in Hassan.

The publicity vehicle was flagged off in front of the statue of Rashtrakavi Kuvempu at the main entrance of Manasagangothri campus, Bogadi Road here, in the presence of MLC Dr. D. Thimmaiah, Progressive Thinkers Dr. Kalegowda Nagawara and Prof. K.S. Bhagwan, District Congress Rural Committee President Dr. B.J. Vijaykumar, former President of Mysore Taluk Panchayat Manjula Manjunath and others.

Speaking to media persons, Dr. Yathindra said, a large number of people from Mysuru are expected to take part in the Convention, organised to give a fitting reply to the plot of Opposition parties, for targeting CM Siddaramaiah. The Convention is being organised under the aegis of Congress party with all the blessings of the High Command, he clarified.

The main motive behind organising the Convention is to tell the people that Siddaramaiah, in his decades long public life, has not committed any wrong.

About 2 lakh people are expected to attend the Convention, said Dr. Yathindra.

He also asserted that Siddaramaiah will complete his full term of five years as CM, with the results of recent by-elections held in the State, proving that the people’s support is in favour of the party.

Fake letter

Dr. Yathindra dismissed the letter written to the party High Command by the supporters of Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar against the forthcoming Convention in Hassan, as fake.

To a question on another case filed in the Court against his mother over the contentious 3.16 acres of land at Kesare (Survey No. 464), he said, the law will take its own course.
