Authorities take up cleaning, painting & illumination works

Mysuru, Sept. 7 (MTY&VNS)- With this year’s Dasara festivities just around the corner (Sept. 22 to Oct. 2), the District Administration has intensified preparations to ensure grand celebrations.

Cleaning and painting works of prominent circles and statues are underway, including K.R. Circle, Jayachamaraja Wadiyar Circle and Chamaraja Wadiyar Circle. Authorities have decided to retain the existing colour patterns of all circles.

The cleaning works are expected to be completed within the next couple of days.

Cleaning at Jayachamaraja Wadiyar Circle and Chamaraja Circle has been completed, while work at K.R. Circle is currently in progress.

Simultaneously, illumination works are being carried out at Jayachamaraja Wadiyar and Chamaraja Circles, with K.R. Circle’s illumination to follow after the completion of its cleaning and painting.

Audience to get clear view of Police Band

City Police Commissioner Seema Latkar has suggested relocating the venue for the Police Band performance scheduled for Sept. 26.

In previous years, the 700-member Police Band performed a few metres away from the main cultural programme stage near the media gallery set up for the Jumboo Savari. This positioning allowed only the audience seated on one side to enjoy a closer view of the performance.

This year, authorities are considering shifting the Police Band performance to a spot right next to the main cultural stage, ensuring that audiences seated on both sides can have a clear and unobstructed view of the event.
