Heritage Walk in ethnic wear evokes enthusiastic response

The Department of Heritage, Archaeology and Museums had organised ‘Heritage Walk’ in ethnic dress for general public this morning from Town Hall premises as part of Dasara Festival.

More 250 men and women, with fellows wearing white jubba, dhoti, shalya and peta and ladies in traditional saree, participated in the programme.

The Heritage Walk, which was flagged off by MLAs S.A. Ramdas and Nagendra at 8 am from Town Hall premises, passed through Silver Jubilee Clock Tower, Jayachamaraja Circle, Balarama Gate of Mysore Palace, K.R. Circle, Devaraja Market, K.R. Hospital, Government Ayurveda College and culminated at Mysore Medical College and Research Institute (MMC&RI).

Member of Expert Committee for Mysuru Heritage Region, retired Prof. Rangaraju guided the participants and briefed them about history, significance and tangible heritage of places during the  one-hour walk.
