Hindustani-Karnatak Jugalbandhi at Srinivasa Temple this evening

Mysuru: As part of ‘Ashada,’ a Jugalbandhi by Siddhartha Belmannu (Hindustani) and N.S. Abhishek (Karnatak) has been organised at Sri Srinivasa Temple (SSW Mutt Charitable Trust) premises, # 1, Swami Vivekananda Road, Ramakrishna Nagar, ‘I’ Block, today (July 1) at 6 pm.

Also, Mass Lakshmi Archane will be performed every Friday with Swaha Hastha at 6 pm; On July 16, Dhanvanthri Homa will be performed at 9 am.

Artistes’ profile

Siddhartha Belmannu, a child prodigy, is a young talented musician hailing from Karkala, Udupi. Born into the music-loving family of Usha and Prasad Belmannu couple on Oct. 2, 1996, Siddhartha is fluent in three octaves.

After initial training in Karnatak Classical Music, he was exposed to Hindustani Classical Music and continued his training under P.R. Manjunath, a well-known Hindustani musician.

Later, Siddhartha came under Pandit Vinayak Torvi, the doyen of Gwalior and Kirana Gharana, where he is currently undergoing vigorous training in the Gurukul system.  At present, Siddhartha is pursuing his B.Com and aims to make music his career.

N.S. Abhishek from Bengaluru is a 24-year-old Electronics and Communication Engineer.

A disciple of Sangeetha Kalaratna Vidwan S. Shankar, he started learning from Vidu. Veena and then under Vidu. Shubha Ramaswamy. Abhishek has been  performing Karnatak Classical  vocal for the past seven years.

He has given many concerts in prestigious platforms including Manas Sangeet Sabha, Bhopal, Sri Tirumala Tirupathi Devasthanam, Tirupathi, AIR, Bengaluru, Sri Ganapathy Sachchidananda Ashrama, Mysuru and many more concerts at Mysuru, Chitradurga, Mumbai, etc.
