Audi car, driver brought to Mysuru

Mysuru:  Siddarthanagar Traffic Police have traced the car involved in a hit-and-run incident at Rajivnagar 2nd Stage near Narayana Hospital on June 10 which had resulted in the death of a motorist.

The deceased motorist is Samiulla Khan, a resident of Udayagiri in city. The car rammed into his scooter when Samiulla was proceeding on his Honda Activa scooter from Udayagiri towards the Ring Road and had sped away.

Siddarthanagar Traffic Policeconducted mahazar, registered a case and collected a few parts of the car that was lying on the road. They then visited a few car showrooms and some car garages in city and enquired about the car parts they had found and came to know that it was an Audi.

The Police also examined CCTV footages of cameras installed at a shop and a Mosque near the accident spot and the footages showed a car ramming into a motorist and speeding away.

Siddarthanagar Traffic Inspector Gurudarshan and staff Hemanth, Prabhakar and Kumaraswamy managed to collect the information of the owner. The car reportedly belongs to Rehman Khan of Bengaluru.

The Police traced the car at the parking lot of an apartment at Jayanagar in Bengaluru last night and after matching the parts of the car which was with them with the Audi (KA-03 MX-9699) parked in the apartment, it was confirmed that it was the same car.

It is learnt that car owner Rehman Khan had sent his driver Nasir to drop a few people to Mysuru. After dropping the people, the driver was proceeding towards Bengaluru, when he allegedly hit the motorist and sped away.

Siddarthanagar Traffic Police have brought the car and the driver Nazir to Mysuru, are investigating.
