Mysuru: In a hit-and-run incident, a 28-year-old youth was killed when an unidentified vehicle hit him and sped away on Mahadevapura Road in Udayagiri here on Friday and the residents who saw the youth lying in a pool of blood have suspected it to be a murder.
The deceased has been identified as Syed Imran, a resident of Bharatnagar here.
Imran, on Friday morning had been to his mother-in-law’s house in Shanthinagar and stayed there till about 4.30 pm and left the house stating that he was going out.
But Imran was hit by an unidentified vehicle which sped away. Passersby, who saw Imran lying in a pool of blood, shifted him to K.R. Hospital, where he breathed his last after failing to respond to the treatment.
The public, who saw Imran lying in a pool of blood, suspected that someone had stabbed him with a knife.
Udayagiri Police, who registered a case, shifted the body to MMC&RI mortuary, where post-mortem was conducted and the body was handed over to the family members.
The Police said that the reason for the death would be known only after receiving the post-mortem report.
