Hit-and-Run: Rider killed as unidentified vehicle hits him

Gundlupet:  A bike rider was killed on the spot when an unidentified vehicle hit his bike at Hangala village in the taluk last evening.

The deceased has been identified as Maruthi (28), a daily wager at Bandipur Tiger Project.

A native of Belagavi, Maruthi was proceeding from Bandipur towards Hangala village, when an unidentified vehicle knocked him down fatally from behind at Hangala and sped away.

The impact was such that the bike was thrown for about 100 mts. resulting in Maruthi suffering serious head injury and breathing his last on the spot.

Gundlupet Town Police, who have registered a case of hit and run has launched a hunt to track down the unidentified vehicle.
